The 3rd batch of International Citizenship Service (ICS) volunteers arrived in Liberia over the week end, nearly two week after the departure of the second batch.

These young men and women will be assigned to YMCA branches in Monrovia and Kakata providing voluntary services in the areas of health, counseling and other areas.

These young men and women are undergoing briefing at the YMCA Headquarters on Broad Street in Monrovia.

ICS is an overseas volunteering program for 18-25 year old. It is funded by the UK Government’s Department for International Development.

It is a development program that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the underprivileged communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The first batch of volunteers began volunteering in Liberia in 2014 but due to the ebola outbreak, the program was suspended.
