E. Timotheus Kamaboakai- National General Secretary/CEO
E. Timotheus Kamaboakai is the current National General Secretary/CEO of the Liberia YMCA. Appointed in April 2017, the New YMCA CEO has served the institution as a staff in several capacities for the past 13 years and most recently served as Development Secretary since 2012.
Mr. Kamaboakai holds a Masters in Public Affairs (MPA) with emphasis in Non- Profit Management and Strategic Planning from the University of Minnesota, USA. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and social work from the United Methodist University in Monrovia. He has served in several positions in the Liberia YMCA.
A. Marcus Freeman, is not new to the inner workings of the Liberia YMCA. Hejoined the YMCA in 1994 as a member of theHi - Y in his institution, the B.W. Harris High School. Additionally, Mr. Freeman through his hard work and innovation with the Hi Y Club rose to become President of the B.W. Harris Episcopal High School Hi-Y Club.
Following graduation, he began his active service with the Monrovia YMCA as a volunteer and later became the first President of the Monrovia YMCA Youth Council,a position, which also propelled him to later become the first President of the National Youth Council of the YMCA of Liberia.
Mr. Freeman has served in several capacities in the YMCA circle both in and out of Liberia , some of which are: Member of the National Board YMCA of Liberia, member Monrovia YMCA Board, Secretary Africa Alliance of YMCAs Youth & Gender Committee, Youth Director Monrovia YMCA, Executive Director Monrovia YMCA, Youth Development Coordinator USAID/Advancing Youth Project and Project Manager Securing Healthy Lives & Sustainable Livelihoods project.
Outside of the YMCA circle he has a wealth of experience in professional policing and administration, as Instructor at the International Police Training Academy in Liberia.The Liberia YMCA Acting Operations Manager also served as Special Assistant to Acting Commissioner of the Crime Services Division and Special Assistant to the Deputy Inspector General of Police for Administration, Liberia National Police and rose to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Liberia National Police.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and minor in Management. Mr. Freeman has participated in several international and national training with the YMCA of Liberia and the Liberia National Police.
