Liberia YMCA Holds Leadership Refresher Workshop Under ERP

A refresher Training workshop for over 50 peer educators and peace mediators under the Liberia YMCA, Post Ebola Project has begun

with over 25 peace mediators and peer educators in Kakata, Margibi County and Gbarnga in Bong County with similar number expected to sit for the training.

The training is being held under the project Mobilizing Young People in Liberia and Sierra Leone to Rebuild Communities Devastated by the Ebola Outbreak.  A leadership training under this project was held in 2016 in the Kakata and Gbarnga.

Participants are undergoing refresher training in the concept and different styles of leadership, personal development, leadership and active citizenship, communication for influence and behavioral state.

Activities under the project are intended to help rebuild the lives of young people in kaklata and Gbarnga, for increased security and cohesion, restoration of livelihoods to beneficiaries, maintenance of health & hygiene practices and increase resilience to future disasters.

The Liberia YMCA Ebola Recovery Project is a two- year project which commence on February1, 2016 and will end on January 31, 2018. Several activities have and are being implemented under the project with 54 beneficiaries expected to graduate shortly from various vocational and skills training disciplines in Kakata and Gbarnga.
